Upcoming Modifications:
- Work with the e85 more in the spring, adj rear end some so it will hook it spins bad ,we leave it in drive when we race so it will shift fast,or it will spin all through 1 gear,i feel i need to move front ladderbar mounts up im in top hole it still doesnt plant but croos member is kinda low ,i didnt have it installed bought it that way ,i think it was more for looks than proformance....... then maybe we can shift it at 6500 rpm and see what it will run now it shifts before 4000 rpm leaving it in drive......

Truck Specs:
First time at the strip with the new motor. I just plane overpowered the suspension and tires. The truck skated all over the track to the point of being dangerous. Need to fix the chassis, install more converter, and get a larger pair of slicks. Just got done installing a roll bar, belts, dana 60, driveshaft, should see the strip again this summer. The 528 Hemi is an animal, I've been shifting it at 7000 and it hasn't hit the power peak yet. It pulls like a freight train, and the top end charge is unbelieveable.
Upcoming Modifications:
- 528 Hemi, siamesed bore MP block, MP 4.15 crank, Manley 4340 sportsmaster rods, 6.96 c/c with .990 small ends, JE custom 10-1 pistons w/moly rings, milodon duel line oil system, MP 614/598 272/274@.050 cam, weiand 2x4 tunnel ram w/2-900+ thermoquads, also sheetmetal tunnel ram w/1140 cfm BG dominator. Est. 600 hp at rear wheels.
Owner Comments:
If it don't scare you, it ain't fast enough! the truck will smoke the tires at any speed under 60mph on the street.

- cancel insurence and make it a drag truck. Insurence is horrible!!!
Owner Comments:
Ive managed 250hp out of it. I can burn the tires at 45mph. A crack in the carb was found a few days ago. It was sealed up. Im getting a lot better fuel economy now. And for some reason I can turn way more RPM now. I was shifting at 5,100 with the crack, but now im shifting at about 6,200. What a jump just from plugging a hole in the carb. I think it will do 6,500 but if I turn that I might be walking for a while. My dad thinks it wont turn 6k without blowing up.

WELL, THE CAR RAN THE 11.75 @ 116 MPH WITH MY OLD 10.5:1 402 BBC. JUST PUT THE NEW ENGINE AND CONVERTER IN THE CAR. I BOUGHT THE ENGINE FROM A FRIEND WHO HAD IT IN HIS 69' CHEVELLE, WITH PRETTY MUCH THE SAME COMBO I HAVE NOW. WE DROVE THE CAR TO THE LOCAL STRIP NUMEROUS TIMES, WHICH IS ONLY 8 MILES AWAY. CAR RAN CONSISTENT LOW 10's WITH THE BEST BEING A 10.08 @ OVER 135 MPH (9 SEC. MPH). SO, I HOPE MY CAR RUNS MID TO LOW 10's @ OVER 130 MPH. OH YEAH, I'LL BE PICKING UP GROCERIES AT THE LOCAL STORE ON THE WEEKENDS WITH THIS TURD :) WELL, I RAN THE CAR ON 09-05-07 AND FORGOT TO PUT THE TRANS BACK INTO FIRST AFTER MY BURNOUT. I RAN THE 10.45 LEAVING IN SECOND GEAR, THEN I WAS KICKED OFF THE RACEWAY FOR NOT HAVING A ROLL BAR.

Truck Specs:
Mild Comp Cam under a set of Trick Flow heads. Estimated about 400hp. 3.73 gearing in a 12-bolt. 14.7 sec is not too bad for a truck that weighs just over 4000 pounds.
Truck Modifications:
- We started out to do a cheapie paint job. We started sanding and prepping and before we knew it, we were doing a mild customization with shaved door handles, removed the hideous riveted gas tank doors on the sides of the bed, reversed the tailgate handle to the inside, lowered 3 inches in front/4 in back. Added disk brakes in front, Dakota Digital gauges, power windows, Factory Air. My 16 year old son, Brian (now 19)did much of the work that was done at home. I am proud of the job he did.
Upcoming Modifications:
- Brian is screaming to put a blown big block under the hood. As soon as we get him through college, why not?
Owner Comments:
I don't know if my kind of truck qualifies for your site. It's clearly not in the same league as those shown currently, but maybe it would give someone hope that they can build a truck. My son and I have had no formal training. I just started opening my wallet and we went to work. We live in N. Calif.

This truck is currently ranked 588th out of 1393
That makes it quicker than 58% of the other trucks here.
Compared to the rest of the DragTruk field, this particular truck is: Above average
Truck Specs:
Truck has been an on going project. It is now getting painted, so will post new pics soon.
Truck Modifications:
- About three months ago I had Morton Racing in Coweta built a new 406. It's a 2 bolt main that was had all the block done, and used a new Eagle rotating assembly. It uses a set of Eagle SIR 6.0" rods attached to JE/SRP forged pistons with file fit rings. Cam is a Comp 294 solid, 294 adv with 248@.050 and .560 lift, 110 LSA. Comp pushords and Comp Pro Magnum roller rockers. Heads are Dart Pro 1 aluminum with 72cc combusion chambers, 2.05/1.60 valves and 215cc runners.
- Intake is Edelbrock RPM, 1/2" spacer with a Holley 750 HP series doublepumper. All MSD ignition.
- Thanks Wes and Mike!
Upcoming Modifications:
- I added a Goodmark 2.5" steel cowl hood, plans to relocate gas tank to rear, using 67-72 Blazer tank, then NOS system.
- Truck is getting complete paint job, and motor needs tweaking. Ran these 13.21 and 13.27 times un-tuned and carb not jetted from factory.Hoping for high 12's on motor alone. Then may add 3500 stall as well.
Owner Comments:
It's a blast to drive, as to see everyones eyes when they see or hear a nice sounding truck. It's one thing to make a car go fast, another to make a truck.

- List goes on, Truck is fully street legal runs full exhaust and NHRA techs for 10.00.
-
-
Upcoming Modifications:
- Narrowed 9" Moser rear with disc brakes. Go to a 32x16.5 tire from current 29x14.5. Get rid of two seperate fuel systems and go to a single return style A1000 pump and reg for nitrous and motor.
Owner Comments:
Best run was done at 2000 ft. above sea (3975' DA)track no concrete launch pad non corrected with a 150 shot. Right now running out of gear at the top end, still playing with the nitrous haven't used it that much, thinking a earlier shift on the squeeze would also help out. A video of the run, daughters first time with the camera so not that great.

can't stall it up or it spins and even if i don't she'll spin 100' before she catches at the strip
even with stock 3:08(although it is an open differential)
hopefully with gears at traction i can get low 15s
the 16 flat was with stereo system and bad timing and just open headers
and for 5,000 lbs of steel it ain't bad!

I have had this truck forever, I love it to death. I don't use it to race, but since I made one pass I figured I would post it. Unfortunately the Blazer won't be making anymore runs at the track cause they said it won't pass tech cause of the height of the lift.

Owner Comments:
This is my sleeper, cruiser, tow vehicle, camping trailer puller, hunting vehicle, farm truck, etc. I originally ran all of the above parts except for a Weiand 8004 dual plane, ported 882 heads (1.94/1.50), and a cam dynamics 266 energizer cam (210/210@.050, .440/.440 lift) when I first built the shortblock...it ran 16.06@89.1 mph. My current ET is off quite a bit compared to the mph...too much weight and not enough gear to get this thing out of the hole very fast, but after the 60' mark it pulls hard. With the planned upgrades I should get in the mid 14's easily. I am suprised there isn't more '70's trucks in here...but you have a cool site here anyway. :-)

Truck Specs:
79 Scottsdale LWB. Originally came with a l-6 and a 3 spd man. Basic interior and trim. Also came with a 10 bolt rearend.
Truck Modifications:
- Lowered 5.5 front, 5 rear. 355, forged crank, rods, and TRW forged dome top Alum. pistons. Power pack heads 2.02, 1.68 polished and ported. Wiend stealth dual plane intake. Carter 600 cfm carb. 14x5 open air cleaner. 373 12 bolt rearend. TH350 all hardened internals. B&M shift kit, B&M 2000 stall converter. Good running truck.
Upcoming Modifications:
- Holley 750 vaccuum seconadary in the mail. K&N 14x5 on it's way. With new improvements I should be able to get into the mid 14's. It has only been run once, spun the tires all the way through first and got squirrly into second. With a set of M/T DOT ET slicks should have no problem getting into the mid 14's. Many uprades coming up, and I will be racing a Truckin Nat's in Phoenix in Oct. Should be lowered another inch in the rear soon. Eventually air bag suspension. Plans also include possible Camaro TPI with a Whipple supercharger, or a blower and Dual 650 carbs. Cowl induction hood and other body mods.
Owner Comments:
I'm all about show and go. The truck will be pretty and fast. We'll see how it does at the nats.
